Monash Partners Strengthens Rare Cancer Clinical Trials Network in Victoria

Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium (MPCCC) is pleased to announce that the Victorian Rare Cancer Clinical Trials Alliance (VRCCTA) has formally transitioned to MPCCC, marking an important step forward in strengthening rare cancer care across Victoria.

Originally established by TrialHub in 2023, VRCCTA has rapidly developed into a highly collaborative network, bringing together 17 health services and 21 industry partners. The alliance has already demonstrated significant impact, facilitating more than 80 patient referrals across over 40 clinical trials, establishing three new rare cancer trials locally, and creating a connected network that bridges metropolitan and regional Victoria.

This transition represents a major milestone in building a more unified and equitable clinical trials ecosystem. Patients diagnosed with rare cancers often face limited treatment options and barriers to accessing trials. Integrating VRCCTA within MPCCC enhances the connection between genomic testing and precision oncology, helping ensure that patients can be matched to appropriate clinical trials regardless of their location.

By embedding VRCCTA within MPCCC’s broader research and clinical network, the alliance is well positioned to expand its reach and impact, supporting more coordinated, statewide access to innovative therapies.

MPCCC acknowledges the foundational work of TrialHub in establishing and growing VRCCTA and is proud to build on this legacy as the alliance enters its next phase of development.
